WNUA FM Radio

WNUA was a new format FM radio station, and I was hired as the project was still in development. I worked with management to create the logo, branding, advertising and billboards.

I was given a free hand to come up with promotional ideas, present with budgets, and run with them as approved. Knowing that I could do more if I stretched the money, I created many 2 color pieces that looked like more, hand-stippled color separations, and illustrated in my most basic art style.

When my art wouldn't do I hired freelancers to illustrate or photograph.

WNUA was one of the first smooth rock/smooth jazz stations in the country. In fact, it became the template for the national brand that quickly replaced local radio.

The General Manager brought me into the project after we worked together and won awards at Q101, an FM rock station.

This was long ago and far away... before the Mac made its entrance and Adobe was still a brick type. I worked on a drawing board with knife and wax, and created presentations with colored markers.
