Multi-taskers are often referred to as “wearing many hats.” Hats once were a signifier of one’s role – the fedora, hardhat, baseball cap,  deerstalker – all spoke to the wearer’s  job.

Hats don’t work as well in this day of equality and relaxed wardrobes.

I prefer the “fills many seats” analogy to describe a multifaceted person.

My strongest position is at the artistic helm. Once there, my organizational skills and creative problem solving puts me in place to fill many other spots.
